Orange County record questions must reach the office that created or maintains the document. This private reference site cannot retrieve, certify, change, or file government records. Use the contacts below to route a request to the Sheriff's Department, Superior Court, a city police agency, or the California Department of Justice.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Send each Orange County request to its official custodian:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Criminal records and rap sheets: contact the California Department of Justice
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the Orange County sheriff's records unit
  • Official background checks: order through the California Department of Justice
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Expungement and record sealing: file with the court that heard the case

For sheriff records, contact Orange County Sheriff Information Management, 320 N. Flower Street, Santa Ana, CA 92703. The public counter is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at (714) 834-6454. The records line remains open until 5:00 p.m. CPRA requests use (714) 834-3999 or prarequests@ocsheriff.gov.

For criminal case files, contact Orange County Superior Court at the Central Justice Center, 700 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana, CA 92701. The felony, misdemeanor, and traffic line is (657) 622-8459. Its criminal counter is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
